What if player has some stocks they forgot about in said corp going away? Maybe bought during an economics class when they were going to school? Not realizing that they were actually buying the stocks (daddy's money) and profits were thought to be a random boost in allowance spending now and then (quarterly).
Now Steele has a bunch of stock that both new parent companies want so that they can have controlling interest.
Let the "bribening" commence!
Each of the big corps sends a rep to try to cash buy. If that fails they try offering cutting edge custom toys. If that fails (after a demo- in which stuff can go wrong. should go wrong, both in a good or bad way.) then they offer sex. Reps study Steele and try to send seduction agents to get her to sign over the stocks needed for controlling interest.
Eventually hyper porn stars could be brought in to fuck Steele silly to make them want to sell the stock.
Meanwhile the stocks are getting to be more and more valuable each week.
The market is worried about the delay...who's gonna be in control of XXXXX ?
Your cousin offers to buy your stock...or tells you not to bend to their will and trickery. Use the family lawyer and for gawds sake talk to the Board or they might be the next target of acquisition and neither one of you will inherit anything! Which of course SHE/HE will be the winner. You dumb slut/whore/Cockmonster etc...
Eventually you discover (via Board?) that Steele tech needs use of a process to expand their AI Mining ships and hardlight tech will make their new Nannite Androids all the more effective and adaptive to the tasks...can you leverage that license for the stock long enough for Steele Tech to perfect the new line and test it in the field?
Heck you might even get a custom nannite/hardlight suit out of this...imagine what Fisianna or your techs on your ship (especially if you have Sidewinder already) could do with one to play with... or play with with you? That hardlight jackhammer with the right "Tip" might be just what your "holes" ordered...the seismic vibrator might have a few other uses too...etc etc.
Depending on starting class and current behavior mods would be how the cycle runs (test /target numbers... a ditz might get tricked out of her stocks for just a shit ton of cash... but a ditz who's a smuggler or techie might see an angle that might be fun to pursue and turn it down... int/willpower test?
No real long term effect, but the company goes away...Tamani and the other corp get bigger... and maybe Steele profits which makes it harder for it to get taken over later on...
Hell there's room for Corp espionage in this game...honey traps, gigolos, (Sure Dad did all that himself on occasion, probably, neh?
Maybe Fisianna is the one that sees the potential your stocks have.
Maybe it's Sara.
Maybe it's a friend who's owes you a favor and overheard something somewhere that "You just gotta know now!" Before it's too late and you sell too quickly...
Emails with updates from everyone.
Emails with details about a retired pron star who got a full rejuv/new body and is back in the biz because she had 200 shares that were desperately needed...and sold them.
Emails (hacked) from friends and family that pressure you into selling.
Emails with veiled threats...
Email saying they have a friend of yours...sell or else (this by a third party that wants in the game by any means possible. And maybe is friendly with a third corp about to make a bid. Bust that ring and another corp could be set to take a fall...or you could buy them up if you shorted their stocks using your friends and assets (reason to take out a large loan?)... and suddenly you're the one in position to take over PLAYER THREE who no one else knew was in the game in first place?
And now Steele tech eats at the big table...supping on everything that corp has to offer they want and can use...and selling off bits to others...
Heck you might end up with a half dozen debt slaves this way you don't know what to do with...know anyone that can adapt them into something useful since Steele Tech has no use for them and well...they are assets...you do own several ships and they aren't earning while they sit in whatever station you last parked them in...a lil customization of the ships and new crew and you'll have a Pink Ship that can ply the skies and earn out quickly...add a good android cook (Yammi/Fisi programming?) and a trustworthy captain and voila you have Dick/Pussy Delivery service...a mobile brothel...that can go where needed...maybe get a license to support and provide R&R to Space Navy near Kuitan? Or inner worlds? Long term profit... gives you leverage with the board later...and is a warning to anyone who thinks blackmailing a Steele will lead to profit...
stopping here... the idea chain is taking over - this would need to be fit to the whole storyline
